Get ahead with apprenticeship applications — start early

Apprenticeships are becoming more competitive, with more students exploring this pathway earlier and applying for opportunities as soon as they open.

Opportunities don’t always follow one clear timeline, and some roles open and close quickly. This means students who wait until applications are live may already be behind. Starting early gives students the chance to understand what employers are looking for, build relevant skills and explore the roles available ahead of application deadlines.

Events such as Beyond School: Get Apprenticeship Ready provide valuable insight for students and parents, covering what strong applicants do well, timelines for applications and how to prepare effectively.

The event is aimed at students thinking about their next steps, as well as parents, carers and teachers supporting them.

Alongside this, Bucks Skills Hub provides a range of resources to help students explore apprenticeships and understand their options, including information on different pathways, sectors and how to apply.
