Vodafone Coding Workshop

Digital Technology
High Performance Engineering

Businesses are starting to understand the important role females have played throughout the history of science and technology. Despite this, both in education and the workplace, girls and women are still hugely underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) fields. That’s why in 2017, Vodafone launched their #CodeLikeAGirl programme in partnership with Code First:Girls to provide a free, 3 day coding workshop to girls aged 16-18 from 26 countries across the world.

The #CodeLikeAGirl workshop will teach girls aged 16-18 the technical skills to build their own websites, including Html, CSS, and JavaScript. We hope the programme will provide the skills and encouragement to one day thrive in a STEM focused career. This programme forms part of Vodafone’s wider ambition to be the best employer for women, by 2025.

This #CodeLikeAGirl workshop will be running fully virtually on MS Teams. The workshop will run over 3 days (15th, 16th & 18th of February). As well as learning some coding basics, there will also be the opportunity to meet some of Vodafone’s tech leads and our #CodeLikeAGirl alumni network throughout the 3 days!

Applications for the programme are now OPEN until Monday the 24th of January!
