Bucks Skills Show 2023 - School Bookings

We are now full steam ahead with our preparations for the Bucks Skills Show – one of the ways Bucks Skills Hub is working to help you achieve the Gatsby Benchmarks including benchmark 2, 3, 5 and 7.

The Skills Show will be taking place on the 8th and 9th of March 2023 at Stoke Mandeville Stadium. Stoke Mandeville Stadium is known as the ‘Birthplace of the Paralympic Movement’, and is at the heart of medical research and innovation.

The Bucks Skills Show 2023 is an opportunity for young people to explore careers, discover different industry sectors and work out how to achieve their ambitions. From a robotic dog to augmented reality, gory stage make-up to space technology – it’s never going to be boring.

But equally, it’s an opportunity for employers to inspire the next generation and secure their talent pipeline. We know they can’t get around to all the individual schools in the county, so here’s the chance for you to meet them all in one place. This is also an ideal opportunity to discuss options with universities, colleges and training providers.

  • Who to bring: All secondary students, from Year 9 and above, are invited. At our last live event, some schools booked on a whole year group, while others supported smaller, targeted groups: it’s about whatever’s best for your students.

  • Get students thinking: Exhibitors will have a profile on our website here. Please do encourage your students to have a look as it would be great for them to familiarise themselves with the organisations.  A list of exhibitors for students to research ahead of the show will be provided for them to plan their visit. We encourage them to come armed with as many questions as possible.

  • Logistics: There is no charge for the tickets; we only ask you to arrange transport and staff cover as you would for other external trips. Sufficient parking will be available onsite.

  • Engage parent carers: We are running a late afternoon/early evening session from 3-7pm on Wednesday 9th March for parent carers. We’ll send more information on this separately for you to promote through your newsletters and on your social media.

Please note: spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, therefore to ensure you receive your preferred time slot, please complete the booking form ASAP. The deadline for your preferences is COP Friday 4th November 2022. We will let you know your allocated slot by Friday 25th November 2022.
