New Virtual Work Experience Opportunity with Associated British Ports

Associated British Ports (ABP) has launched its first-ever virtual work experience programme, introduced during National Careers Week to inspire young people to explore career opportunities within the maritime industry.

As ABP does not currently offer a structured on‑site work experience programme, this new virtual format provides an accessible way for students and early‑career talent to gain a real insight into what it’s like to work at ABP, regardless of location.

Programme overview

The virtual work experience programme features four engaging modules, covering:

  • An introduction to Associated British Ports

  • ABP’s Twin Missions

  • A strong focus on Health & Safety through the Home Safe Every Day approach

  • An overview of early careers pathways within the organisation

Accessibility & learning benefits

Designed with accessibility in mind, the programme can be completed on a PC, tablet, or smartphone (Android or iPhone). It offers structured learning, industry insight and reflective activities, enabling students to count their participation towards CPD learning.

How to access

The programme can be accessed via the link below. Users will be asked to set up a Talent People account when accessing the programme for the first time:
