We will be explaining everything you need to know about apprenticeships and meeting a selection of apprentices who will be talking about their experiences.

Students, parents, and teaching/school staff can listen in and ask questions, they will be recorded, but to listen live sign-up here:

Both webinars will start at 6pm sharp and last for 60 minutes.

Emily Hemsley

Level 3 Business Administration - Softcat

I work as a Resource Planner within Engage a services department, I am responsible for supporting the Solutions Design team to deliver high-quality IT infrastructure and services to our customers. I proactively allocate and organise incoming projects to the best resource, ensuring that the workload is balanced across the available team members and that customer deadlines and expectations are met. I also liaise with other departments, such as Sales and Delivery, to ensure smooth communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle. I am currently working towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration, which provides a solid foundation in the core aspects of business operations, such as communication, organisation, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Daniel Turner

Level 3 IT Technical Sales - Softcat

I work as a Public Sector Account Manager within IT sales. My role is in the education sector (currently primaries, high schools and multi academy trusts) and consists of reaching out to new customers, retaining current customers, and hopefully making some commission along the way. To do so I need to book in meetings with customer via Teams, face to face visits to the school sites and impress with cost efficient, quick pricing. The specific apprenticeship is an IT Technical Salesperson Level 3 qualification which covers a variety of topics such a It fundamentals, negotiation skills and how to close a deal, I also take part in a 3 day trip every few months to spend these days fine tuning these skills in a group environment.

Ellie Carpenter

PR, level 4 - All Spring Media

Ellie Carpenter is a Marketing and PR Coordinator at All Spring Media, on a Level 4 Public Relations and Communications Assistant apprenticeship. In addition to managing a social media marketing plan, Ellie’s role also involves writing blogs and press releases, creating and distributing newsletters, promoting training programmes, and coordinating internal and external communications. Ellie has finished her apprenticeship training and is now going through her apprenticeship assessments.

My name is Johnathon Monk, and I am an engineering apprentice for Sumitomo Demag. Sumitomo Demag is a company that sells and maintains injection moulding machines. The course that I am studying is a level 3 mechatronics maintenance course.

Level 3 Assistant Production Accountant - Amazon Prime

I work in the accounts team in TV shows and Film productions. I did an apprenticeship as an Assistant Production Accountant Apprentice as an employee of the company, ScreenSkills (logo attached). Screenskills is the industry-led skills body for the screen industries. I received training in production accounting from my placements and in classroom teaching. I learned the curriculum of AAT level 3 Diploma in Accounting for the apprenticeship qualification - AAT level 3 Standard. During my time on the apprenticeship, I worked on one TV show and two films. Additional info: Many people in the tv and film industry are freelancers (self-employed) and find their own work. Those who are not freelancers, usually work for production houses and get the benefit of working as employees (pension, taxes).

Level 4 Post Production Technical Operator Apprenticeship - Amazon Prime

Hi, I'm Sam Ayache Walker. I recently completed my yearlong level 4 apprenticeship as an Edit Assistant in TV thanks to Screenskills and Amazon Prime with placements at ITN Post and Hat Trick Post. I have gained a huge amount of invaluable experience and knowledge through my apprenticeship and am now staying on at my first placement as an Edit Assistant for the ITN Business team.

The apprentices are representing a wide range of businesses and a wide range of levels of study. Businesses represented include Softcat plc, Cisco, the Digital Manufacturing Centre, Zenopa, All Spring Media, Amazon Prime, Sumitomo Demag, Saffery and Redrow plc.
